Zarife Gizem İbrahimoğlu

Born in Samsun, Turkey in 1988, Zarife Gizem İbrahimoğlu graduated from Anadolu University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Interior Architecture in 2013, and in 2015, she went to Domus Academy Milano with a special success scholarship and completed her master's degree in Interior & Living Design.

She was greatly influenced by Far Eastern culture, fabrics and art, which she had the opportunity to observe closely at Studio Ito Design Milano, where she worked with Japanese designers in 2015, and between 2015-2019, she worked at Imrahor Istanbul, where she had the opportunity to closely observe Far Eastern fabrics, furniture and craftsmanship, and frequently included the symbols that influenced her in her works.

The artist, who mostly works with graphite, charcoal and acrylic portraits of women on canvas, sees the figures in her works as versions of herself with different emotions and characters. She aims to reflect a different emotion in each of her works, and especially wants to draw attention to the psychological changes that women experience in today's world.
